This video shows a daylight bank raid in Damascus, Syria. Unusual on a few counts, the raiders didn’t wear any kind of disguise despite the bank having excellent CCTV equipment and showed no camera shyness.
Our source informs us that the raiders were actually a part of a local organised crime network. Reports of the leaders names are confusing, the most accurate we could get appears to be Orah Assad or “Orah Lion”. Apparently Mr Orah was captured shortly after the raid but was at large later the same day after apparently being “smuggled from the prison”.
Receiving news media from Syria is a rare enough event in itself. This video and article seem to show that the organised crime in that country have deep roots indeed to allow criminals to attempt such a brazen crime and evade custody within a matter of hours. This video is trimmed down from the seven minute origional.
